Rabbits are versatile animals and getting to know them can be both a riveting and demanding job. It takes time to know them and learn about their personality. Every rabbit has a distinctive and peculiar personality makings them stand out from other pets and animals both of their own species and others. Here are some ways which facilitate the bonding process with a rabbit or a bunny :
1) LISTEN TO YOUR RABBIT'S VOCALIZATIONS -
Rabbits have a wide range of resonances and vibrations through which they communicate. Though they do not make loud sounds unlike dogs (woof) and cats (meow) they subtly grind their teeth which is a sign of affection in rabbits. But if they grind their teeth excessively consulting your vet as there is a difference between subtle grinding and excessive grinding. Chances may be that it's asking for help.
2) STUDY THEIR BODY LANGUAGE -
Believe it or not, rabbits have a wide range of body languages and each of these have their different meanings. For instance, grinding teeth for showing affection or expressing their pain, or letting their ears down when they're relaxed. The point is to understand that every bunny has its own unique set of physical behaviours that depends on its personality. The point is to understand the behaviour and understand what they are actually trying to convey.
3) MAKE YOUR RABBIT COMFORTABLE AT HOME -
One of the most successful and scientifically proven ways to bond with your bunny is not to provide them with living spaces that restrict their movement in any way possible. Rabbits need open spaces to move freely which is important for both their physical, mental and emotional wellness. One of the ways to prevent this is to opt for better alternatives like barriers that set boundaries in your house for them which would cause less destruction.
4) FEED YOUR RABBIT A PROPER DIET -
We all know that saying, "Feed an animal for a day and they'll remember for a lifetime". The same logic is applied here ; if you'll properly feed your furry friend with the adequate nutrients that they require, the bunny (or rabbit) will try to come closer to you. Their staple diet includes hay (dry grass). Also feeding them in hygienic conditions can be successful in establishing a bond.
Rabbits are those notable animals who seek attention and need attention like any other pet. The best thing you can do is give your time and attention to those little furry friends and I assure you, they'll give back more to you. They just love their owners without any measure.
