MY JOURNEY WITH PETS (part 1)

The concept of owning an animal has always intrigued me. Perhaps it is because my mother had a pet dog named Bruno, but he passed away when I was too young to remember anything about him. But my parents (particularly my father) were not pet lovers.

Throughout my life, I actually have tamed many fishes although I turned into now not very satisfied with taming them because of their constrained lifespan. When you own a pet, you develop attached to it. This makes it an inseparable member of your family. Losing it seems like announcing goodbye to a part of you. It is for that reason many human beings no longer need to hold every other pet after the loss of one. They are incapable of managing the grief of dropping a liked pet.

Two years ago, on one sunny day, we were returning home from Chandni Chowk, and we spotted a wholesaler with a cage of rabbits. After checking it out with my mother, we decided to buy a rabbit. In the end, we selected two of them: one brown and one black.

He reminded my mother of Bruno, her dog, so the moment she saw him she fell in love with him. (It was presumed that he was a boy). My father voiced his disapproval subtly due to his initial disliking towards animals. Little did any of us know that he would grow obsessed and fall madly in love with him (Of course not in a romantic way).

My father was initially reluctant to even contact him ; he became rather petrified of the 'little creature' that hopped around inside the house. He despised the litter that he created and vowed to 'do none of his chores'. And quickly within a week, he flew off to London for official purposes.

After coming back from London, my father started to show a hint of affection towards him despite the fact that he was nonetheless terrified of Bruno leaping over him. This fear was also eradicated and my father grew passionate about him.

He was often seen caressing this little creature with his bare hands and he the one being fondled would be lost in his own little world of thoughts. It felt marvelous watching each of them spend time collectively.

Months passed by way of after which we observed a unexpected change in his behavior . He became being aggressive and beginning biting my mom specifically. The motive for this become likely the raging hormones which additionally resulted in his territorial behavior. (Territorial behavior refers to littering at fixed spots because of the heady scent).

But this behavior suppressed after a few months and he again lower back to his ordinary lifestyles. Perhaps, this was a result of puberty in rabbits. And he grew even extra affectionate after that segment of aggression.

The beyond year has been a curler coaster ride for everybody. Especially both of us being without our father and dealing with the fact that we have to continue to exist and defense ourselves in a good way to ensure that we do now not get the virus. He's been there for each of us via thick and thin. He made us snicker; he made us cry and he saved us on our feet. He turned into a infamous little buck; constantly doing matters he became told not to. He was continually scolded by either me or our mom.

Around the time of pandemic, he become frequently seen with a bloated belly laying on the floor as though he was having a cramp inside the belly. We couldn't diagnose the purpose of this infection and often he could sense higher and be freed from the cramps within an afternoon or two.

But this did not show up on December 14th 2020. He was taken ill for some days and he acted in a unusual manner in the even of that Tuesday. Little did we realize that those moments in night time would be the final of them with him. The next morning he started to fall apart and we rushed to the nearest vet however we observed that he had left the Earth before we may want to even seek advice from the medical doctors.

After his loss of life, we felt that our little globe which revolved around him was broken into portions and then we were inconsolable. But we controlled to solace ourselves that he had determined peace and may have taken rebirth as a human in an excellent family.
